Refreshing the Tired Cliché “Win-Win” – Just Maybe We’ve Had the Wrong Definition?

“Win-win is a belief in the Third Alternative.

It’s not your way or my way;

it’s a better way, a higher way.”

.

“I win the private victory when I have made my mind up and commit to live by

correct principles and to serve worthy purposes.” — Stephen Covey

close-up-photo-of-black-ceramic-mug-3806690

What if being told, “No”, when you thought you wanted a “Yes”, actually turned out to be, in retrospect, a Win for you?

What if people saying, “Yes” to you, when you should have hoped for a “No”, actually turned out to be, in retrospect, a Loss for you?

Just maybe, the scripts we’re using are the foundational problem in determining, “Win-Win”.

“Yes”, “No” and a “Contingent Response” are all opportunities that can actually enable a longer-term “Win-Win”.

Let’s boil this down to a very simple question, that’ll provide the critically important answer, we should be looking for: “What’s their Holistic-DMQ”?

People that…

  • Don’t understand you;
  • Don’t comprehensively appreciate you;
  • Are intimidated by your talents;
  • Don’t have a strong Vision for Possibilities;

… lack the heightened levels of Holistic-DMQ needed to share a Window of Amazing with you.

banking-business-checklist-commerce-416322
person-doing-thumbs-up-193821

People who have developed these attributes, will thoroughly love to share Win-Win with you!

Let’s break this critical concept down, Professionally and Personally, to bring more clarity.

Professionally – We’ll walk through a simple example.

Your team meets with a C-Level Executive to help them save $7.5M. Your team has a long track-record of success, you charge $0 upfront and don’t get paid if you don’t save the company any money, but your team does get a percentage of the success if new, realized money is generated. In essence, your team’s paying for itself out of the new money you’ve created, so it doesn’t cost the company a net penny. The company keeps the majority of the new, Net Income.

Further; 10% or $100,000 per $1M of cost savings at the company, is donated to a Non-Profit. Again, this is coming out of a brand new Net Income stream the company won’t have, unless they collaborate with your team.

Thus; the company can Win, your Team can Win and the Non-Profits cam Win.

That’s odd… everybody can Win!  The company is financially healthier and a big check goes to a Non-Profit. How wonderfully strange!

100-us-dollar-banknotes-3483098

The Executive says, “Yes” – A Win for all parties.

The Executive says, “No”; thus, it’s actually a:

  • Win for your team since the Executive clearly doesn’t have a high enough Holistic-DMQ.
  • Win for the Executive since he /she thinks they made the right decision and their ego is maintained. Further, since it’s clear they really don’t care about the Non-Profit, they’re more likely to throw the Non-Profit a little check, just to make it appear, they’re a good leader.
  • Loss for the company, since they just left $M’s sitting on the table.
  • Loss for the Non-Profits since a donation of $100,000 per $1M of savings would help many, many people in need.

Such is life!

We run into C-Level (and Non-Profit) Executives weekly, that just, “Don’t Get It”.

.

That’s why their companies’ KPI’s, relative to the the industry, are consistently “Average” over the years.

.

Personally – This Win-Win concept would be quite simple, if we could remove the powerful emotions associated with life… which we just aren’t able to do. What we can do, is combine as much Obj-DMQ with our emotions.

We want people in our lives that understand us; comprehensively appreciate us; love us unconditionally, etc.

Thus; even if we really want certain people in our lives, but they don’t have the capacity needed in the key attributes, as demonstrated by their actual choices; their Holistic-DMQ is misaligned with our Holistic-DMQ. Again, that’s just life!

Strangely, this scenario still equates to a “Win-Win”, if you think about it deeply.

.

However, it will create “regret” later, if those people eventually develop the capacity to elevate

their Holistic-DMQ, and realize what they previously, unknowingly forfeited.

There are many reasons for an insufficient development or lack of consistent delivery of Holistic-DMQ.

  • Mental illness (consistently inconsistent, is a common observation)
  • Nominal age (thus the saying, “you don’t know what you’ve got, until it’s gone”)
  • Insufficient development of Appreciation Muscles (many think they have this; but later realize, they didn’t)
  • Non-Elevating Inner-Circles, that we’re listening to for advise to help make decisions (they primarily provide affirmation; which, keeps the whole Inner-Circle together and obliviously happy)

The beautiful part of all this complex stuff; is that in the longer-run:

  • 8.5+’s will align with 8.5+’s
  • 4.0’s to 7.5’s will think they’re 9.0+’s, but will align with 3.0’s to 8.0’s and they’ll all be happy (really!)
  • People with 8.5+ capacity, but aren’t an 8.5+ yet, will surround themselves with 8.5+ people and get better
  • People with below 8.5 capacity, will jettison 8.5+ people out of their lives, while justifying their decision to their sub-8.5 Inner-Circles

In the end; Holistic-DMQ has again, played out it’s consistently harmonious lullaby and everyone actually Wins!

Is There a Strong Connection Between Decision Making Quality (DMQ) and Mental Health?

“Nothing in this world can torment you as much as your own thoughts.” – healthyplace.com

silhouette-of-person-holding-glass-mason-jar-1274260

Stress… Depression… Anxiety… Regret… Happiness…

A key, common thread to all of these attributes …

Decision Making Quality (DMQ)

Are these attributes, regardless if they are controllable or not… regardless if they are intentional or not… to a certain degree… self-inflicted?

I’ve been accused by many, as being one of the most creative people they’ve met. To that end; just as the Laws of Attraction play out for you, they also play out for me, both professionally and personally.

Professionally, being able to walk into F500’s and find $10’s of millions of dollars in savings in a matter of hours, that 1,000’s of intelligent employees and executives aren’t able to find, is just an unusual, almost autistic gift, that comes relatively easy for me; yet, still surprises executives earning 7-figure incomes.

Personally, attracting people that I refer to as on the edge”, who are spectacular, amazing, etc., when they are mentally healthy, has been both fascinating and challenging at the same time.

close-up-of-human-hand-256514
silhouette-of-woman-1382513

If you’re like me, unfortunately; in these primarily wonderful and healthy relationships, others sometimes go off the rails as the cliché is referenced. I’m not a medical professional and there are many different medical reasons for why _______ behavior happens.

As a point of reference, I’ve known people extremely well, that have suffered from:

  • Anxiety attacks where they’re completely overwhelmed by everything regardless of how little.
  • Depression bouts where the communication door is closed with 6 locks on it.
  • Anger issues where they’ve actually punched me repeatedly to the point where I’m black & blue for 2 weeks.
  • Suicide – yes; where the mental illness was so bad, they actually took their own life.

When they were mentally healthy, all of them were unusually wonderful people, well-educated (several earned a Master’s Degree) and appeared to have a lot going for them, by social-norm standards. As a matter of fact, most people didn’t / or wouldn’t even know they had mental issues.

So; is there a common ingredient that possibly contributed to their, as well as many people’s, unhealthy behavior?

In trying to understand this, since these people were so close to me, I’ve reflected on my own failures, successes, regrets (just say “yes” when you’re asked to go for a walk along the Pacific), etc., and I believe DMQ is the most critical, foundational reason.

The Leadership Decision Making Quality (DMQ) Challenge / Opportunity

Why DMQ?

When people make the decisions to…

.

+ Commit the sin of omission, by not sharing information pertinent to the relationship;

+ Follow acceptable social norms because they’re easier to deal with, but don’t work for the uniquely special you;

+ Inflict mental or physical pain upon others, even though the recipient isn’t truly deserving of it;

.

… we add to the “pile of regrets burden” carried by our mind.

Our heart and soul know we haven’t been true to ourselves or we’ve done others wrong, while our mind repeatedly attempts to convince our self-esteem, sometimes for a lifetime, that “it was the right thing to do at the moment”!

.

But in our heart and soul, we know it really wasn’t!

This is similar to the relentlessly beating heart that drove the person insane in Edgar Allan Poe’s classic, “The Tell-Tale Heart”.

When you transition away from Social Norms to Uniquely-Special-You scripts… life changes!

When we are healthy in our failures, acknowledge our regrets and become genuinely ourselves, without any make-up, we develop a healthier mental attitude while making decisions consistent with who we really are; not who we want others to see.

Rather than having “regrets” pile up in our minds, which we then need to mentally carry with us throughout our lives, we can be unchained from the old regrets, stop adding new regrets and begin anew, to live an Amazing, Purpose-Driven and Healthy life that’s uniquely special!

Are We Really “All in this Together” Long-Term; or, Just for a Convenient Term?

Sometimes it takes a while to recognize that someone has a special ability to get us to believe in ourselves, to tie that belief to our highest ideals and imagine that together we can do great things.

.

In those rare moments, when such a person comes along, we need to put aside our plans and reach for what we know is possible.”  ~ Caroline Kennedy

grayscale-photo-of-human-hand-2050590

Thus; will the “We’s” be there to help you to personally pick up the shattered pieces later?

Will the “We’s”:

  • Provide you a steady income, just like “We” removed your steady income?
  • Pay your home, car, etc., loans, just like “We” told you “We’ll worry about that later”?
  • Provide health, child, mental, etc., care, just like “We” told you “It’ll all work out, we just have to get through this”?

Yes; people are looking for positives!

Yes; we have a pandemic.

Yes; I believe there should be a lot of “We-Think”; although it should be from the beginning to the end in making “whole” the very last sacrifice for “Each We”… IF “we’re really all in this together”!

Frankly, in the U.S., what is the track record for “We” historically?

So; does everyone believe that “We” will show up to pay your multiple loans, food bills, etc., for an unknown number of months until “You” get re-hired?

cash-dollars-hands-money-271168
looking-for-a-friend-bear-165263

Or; instead, will that be a “Your” problem?

I’m one of the most positive people you’ll find; although, it doesn’t look like it from this content. As a matter of luck, change actually helps my profession and I don’t have as many financial challenges as most, so I’ll be fine, but believe I am my brothers’ and sisters’ keeper! This content is about the majority, not me.

Since I’m a Holistic-DMQ Leader who helps companies, Non-Profits and other leaders solve complex problems and make more intelligent decisions, I’m looking at the pandemic comprehensively from beginning to end.

This pandemic is a significant problem that uniquely effects each business, Non-Profit and individual. Cookie-Cutter solutions aren’t going to work for many!

There are literally 1,000’s of examples in the past where it’s been said, “We’re in this together”.

So… how successful are “We” doing on:

+ Global warming?

+ Healthcare for all?

+ Equal pay for women?

+ Quality education for every child?

Why doesn’t “We” have a stellar track record on these easier issues?

adult-attractive-beautiful-371168

Just maybe, the “Haves” love “having” and “hope” the “Have-Nots” don’t:

  • “Clutter” the city sidewalks as “eyesores”; but “hope” they find a job and housing
  • “Clog up” the medical system getting their free services, but “hope” there’s a free clinic for indigent people somewhere outside their neighborhood
  • “Nag” about equal pay for equal work at equal performance levels; but “hope” everyone earns enough money
  • “Sneak their kids” into the elite school districts where the better teachers are hired, but “hope” all kids get a good education

.

Yes; we’ve been told “we’re in this together” for one simple, root reason:  The virus is non-discriminatory!

.

Thus; the “Haves” are vulnerable; not just the “Have-Nots”.

.

This is perceived by the “Haves” as a huge problem since socio-economics aren’t able to entirely circumvent the problem; although they will certainly mitigate the negative outcomes for people with more money.

.

Let me translate this into practical terms:

.

Most of the “haves” will be fine after this pandemic slows,

but they are at risk if the pandemic isn’t brought under control.

.

Therefore; “We’re all in this together”… until it’s over and then

“we’ll part ways and you’ll be on your own again”.

.

“We” will hope you’ll be okay!

Will my prediction be wrong? Hopefully!

Now comes the wonderful part. For those of you who follow my blogs or have read my holistic leadership book, we know the answer to any complex situation is a “Pie Chart” of outcomes. It won’t be quite as simple as the “haves” and “Have-Nots”. The “pie” will be segmented into various “slices” that include those who will:

  • Go right back to where they were
  • Change a little
  • Change significantly
  • Demonstrate various combinations of the slices above

The world needs as many leaders in the “changes significantly” category!

Most importantly… who will you become through; and beyond this pandemic?

There isn’t anything “We” can’t do… if “We” genuinely want to!

Will We Change Permanently or “Just Enough” to Get Through This Pandemic?

“If you want to make the world a better place

Take a look at yourself and then make that change!”

.

Lyrics from Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror” (2012 Remaster) Songwriters: Glen Ballard / Siedah Garrett

woman-in-front-of-vanity-mirror-2525007

Hmmm! If we only had 7 billion mirrors!

This blog title should intrigue High-Holistic-DMQ leaders enough to pause, reflect and consciously decide.

The world changes when Holistic Leaders change. The majority will then follow.

Are you a Holistic Leader or are you a Serial-Myopic Leader?

Holistic Leaders see the world, employees, family members, etc., in a holistic way. They’re leaders who lead people professionally, personally and in the community while their DMQ considers all their own roles; and, all the roles of the people whom their decisions will impact, holistically.

Serial-Myopic leaders / managers on the  other hand, see the world, employees, family members, etc., in separate, although connected roles. They’re not leaders, they’re managers. As such, they manage them using Position Authority (I’m here, you’re there, so we’ll do what I say) to get things done.

earth-global-globe-87651
abandoned-abstract-close-up-corrosion-1301413

As an example; domestic environments are corroded with breadwinners managing the household, because they hold everyone financially hostage.

Women have historically earned less than men and many men have abused this financial advantage while getting away with being a(n) ________ (pick your colorful language) around the house. These types of managers are just as bad at work and make High-DMQ Leaders, who happen to report to them, lives miserable.

So, will C-19 change us permanently or just enough to get us through this?

At this point, my guess is pretty obvious, just as I said at the time of 9/11, most won’t change permanently… which is what has actually transpired.

So; the real opportunity is to find those Holistic Leaders on the proverbial fence and help them permanently change for the better.

Who and how do we do this?

people-holding-red-and-white-love-banner-3701040

Unfortunately, it’s a better question than is my answer. Thus; I’ll contribute one recommendation for 3 groups of potentially Holistic Leaders that are on the fence, and have the courage to positively change permanently.

1 – Corporate Executives – Weave your companies into the fabric of the communities vs. silo-ing them, just enough to get the required, positive PR. This enhancement could include loaning 1%+ of your employees to Non-Profits for extended periods of time, while you pay their full salaries. Genuinely treat employees as people first, then employees second, especially on jugular decisions!

I’m not talking about 1 or 2 people being loaned. I’m talking about 10-20 per 1,000 employees, from all “ranks”. Seriously; get deeply ingrained into your community and become one with it!

Make “We’re in this together” a permanent reality, not just a convenient, temporary slogan.

You could even use our Corporate Cost Saving / Social Impact Model to pay for corporate / community programs such as I’m recommending. We won’t guarantee we’ll save you $50M like one of our team’s clients saved, but it could be over $100M in new savings, if you intelligently get engaged with us.

.

Even if we only save you $2.5M… that’s better than a sharp stick in the eye!

2 – Non-Profit Executives and Board Members – Weave your social impact model into the business strategy of corporations. Don’t expect corporations to donate just because it looks good for them and you have a positive relationship with them!

Help them create New Net Income so they have much, much more to donate and you’re a valuable contributor to their success, not just a taker of their self-generated financial success!

Thus; your Corporate Partners are more likely to donate to your Non-Profit in both good times and bad; and, in greater abundance!

Consistent with this approach, Board Members and Executive Directors, please hire Development Directors that live this concept and not just ones who can chase envelopes. Non-Profits enhancing Corporate Success, needs to be part of every Non-Profit’s culture.

3 – Significant Others – Spouses, partners, etc., grasp the holistic courage, humility and passion for leading a Purpose-Driven Life.

“It’s never crowded along the extra mile.” – Wayne Dyer

The hell with what non-amazing people think and tell you!

Jettison them out of your life!

Why Helping Others, When It’s Hard as ____ for You… is Amazingly Rewarding!

When my body gets to the point where I can no longer function or feel gratitude, then I’ll leave it and become grateful again. But until then, I will appreciate what I have and not whine about what I don’t have. I will feel blessed by life and the opportunity to help others see that they are blessed, too. – Bernie Siegel

person-drowning-in-water-3651632

How are you doing?

Seriously… Are you hanging in there during these twistingly turbulent times?

If you need anything, or I can possibly help you, please DM me here or on LinkedIn.

We all know, nothing lasts forever, but…

We also know that life is a series of overlapping and interconnected Windows of Time. Each Window may last only weeks or possibly years.

Many people, truly think they are great leaders, but have only been tested during the “good” or “not-so-bad” times.

Anyone can lead during the “good times”, if they just don’t mess it up.

How about leading troops into a swamp after midnight in the pitch-black night, with cold water up to your chest and creatures everywhere in the water? (This is abridged from a former F500 VP’s longer version, who served in the Army, that I’ve been fortunate to know for many years.)

dock-surrounded-by-body-of-water-1533060
photo-of-person-in-the-middle-on-the-road-3889851

Do you have the courage to go first?

For the few that say, “Yes”, who do you believe will actually follow you?

Helping others, when you think you have nothing, is an Amazing opportunity that you’ll never forget!

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of going through a we-don’t-see-eye-to-eye divorce, while being held hostage to an antiquated-thinking court system, you may have found yourself with pretty much nothing.

Nothing, that is, in the form of available socially-preferred assets, credit, etc.

I have a client, who at one point in his adult life, could fit everything he owned in his backpack. He was an awesome person then and is today, regardless of his amount of “socially-preferred” assets!

Helping others, when you don’t know if you can, is an Amazing decision that builds your Holistic Leadership! If you know you’ll succeed, is that really leadership?

So what if “social norms” praise you for your “leadership”; but you know in your heart, that you didn’t do anything special?

balance-cobblestone-conceptual-279470

Basic example: You have $120,000 in the bank, own everything, etc., and you write a check for $1,000 to a Non-Profit. There’s no risk of financial failure when you make a nice donation of less than 1% of your money!

How about providing an endowment for $100,000, knowing you’ll only have $20,000 left?

Yes… that’s quite aggressive… but…

Q: Would you rather be the person giving $100,000 from your surplus; or,

.

… the person receiving $1,000 because you had nothing and your family didn’t have food to eat?

.

A: <Just think about it… Stop thinking… Start Doing… The world’s waiting for you to share your talents!!

Helping others, by investing in their potential, even if you or they, eventually fall short, is an Amazing gift to provide! I’ve been blessed to have the privilege of helping people professionally, personally, etc. I’m still surprised by the “Thank You” communications I still get from people I knew years ago.

So… Stop! Do you really have nothing… as you first thought?

.

Or…

.

Do you have everything…

except for “things” you were misleadingly told throughout your life,

by Non-Amazing people,

they and you,

thought were valuable?

When you have “nothing” as defined by social norms,

you have the opportunity to get “everything that is truly important”!

Have you been chosen by Fate, Karma, etc., to gain the possibility to earn gifts that elude those “less fortunate”; or as society would inversely call, “extremely fortunate”?!?

Life’s gifts bestowed to the givers who thought they had nothing, who thought they had no time, etc., include the rare opportunities of a lifetime, for them to:

  • Develop their Appreciation Muscles, so as to find what is truly important in life!
  • Get to know themselves, as they’ve never known themselves before! (Hint: You don’t know you as well as you think you do.)
  • Understand what “having nothing” really looks like! (Hint, it’s probably not you.)
  • Be loved for who you genuinely are, with all your unsightly baggage!

Lastly; that small percentage of lucky people who have nothing,

you’re given the keys to the door that opens a seldom used corridor,

leading directly to an Amazing, Purpose-Driven Life!

You’ve busted your ass to become who you are; now, snag those keys you’ve earned!

Genuinely seize with all your Holistic-Energy, as many Windows of Amazing, as you can, in your lifetime!

Are You Honestly Doing What You Love?

“If you obsess over whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another.

.

The universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make any decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience.”  ~ Deepak Chopra

photo-of-yellow-daffodil-flower-1031403

First; the hell with irrelevant social norms that are always whispering to you, to “fit in” so that you live an “Average” life!

It’s your life!

Live it!

Love it!

Appreciate it as uniquely as you are special!

Second; “we’re all food for the worms… eventually we’ll all just be fertilizing daffodils”! (Source: Robin Williams in the Touchstone Pictures movie “Dead Poets Society”.)

Life isn’t perfect; but with an Amazing appreciation for life; it can be pretty damn spectacular!

Sure; we’ll all be gone some day. We may be young. We may be old. This is what makes the privilege to live our lives so sweetly special!

So… Professionally and Personally, are you honestly:

  • Doing what you love?
  • Surrounded by people you love?
  • Living… so as to not have regrets as you grow older?
  • Holistically seizing those rare, Amazing Windows of Time, during your lifelong journey?

If not; when will you start?

If you once did, even if it was for only a short time; why did you stop?

If you’ve never done these, today’s a new day!

Q:  What’s the Secret to Life?

.

A:  Holistic-DMQ!

Let’s touch on a refresher for this critically important, although complex, Holistic-DMQ. Its non-equal, weighted components include:

  • DMQ–Base System;
  • DMQ–Inner Circle;
  • DMQ–Vision of Future Self;
  • DMQ–Self-Sabotage;
  • DMQ–Courage;
  • DMQ–Heart;
  • DMQ–Soul; and,
  • DMQ–Freewill
woman-in-white-one-piece-swimsuit-doing-yoga-3317185

Succinctly; we weight each of these components, in each professional and personal scenario, using past knowledge, present situations and future expectations, to make decisions.

Thus, where we are in life, who we’re with, etc., are merely an accumulation of the Holistic-DMQ decisions we’ve made coupled with the good, bad or ugly adjustments made by luck, fate, etc.

It’s tough to say one particular component is more important than another. However; since DMQ-Freewill allows you the freedom to “____ it up”, you can override all other DMQ components combined, with just DMQ-Freewill.

DMQ-Freewill is beautifully designed to mess up any quality decisions we were about to make, even if Fate was handing us a golden opportunity on a silver platter while walking down a red carpet. Yep! DMQ-Freewill provides us the autonomy to “____ it up”!

The most elegant part of DMQ-Freewill; we have a “sophisticatedly beautiful way of justifying” our decisions; to others, and even convincing ourselves, why our less-than-stellar decisions were “brilliant”.

.

We just sprinkle in the “sins of omission”, those details that wouldn’t make us look good if we shared them, add a dash of embellishment to support our perspectives, etc., and voila… what a brilliant decision!

.

Not!

.

We just demonstrated our lack of talent at Holistic-DMQ!

The consequences, forfeited opportunities, etc., are now planted, grow and we lead a life negatively impacted by our less-than-stellar Holistic-DMQ.

The Simply Stunning Wardrobe of Self-Centeredness

In a tribute to International Women’s Day 2020

.

“Man can never be a woman’s equal in the spirit of selfless service

with which nature has endowed her.”  ~  Mahatma Gandhi

man-wearing-tuxedo-in-grayscale-photography-38270

“Wow; we look fabulous”, we say to the mirror, as we don what we believe to be our finest “Selfless Threads”.

“I’m one of the most selfless people I know!”, we conclude.

Meanwhile an endless list of needs; including clean water, food, housing, human equality, mental illness, etc., are right in front of our eyes, literally or via social media, that continuously go unresolved, day-after-day, by the many self-proclaimed “Selfless Leaders”.

So… are we really as selfless as we’d like to believe; or, do we more accurately, “dress ourselves from our simply stunning wardrobe of self-centeredness” to create the socially accepted appearance that we’re selfless?

This is a tough topic to write about since we do need to take care of ourselves; while not being overly self-centered.

This blog’s content is focused on mentally and physically healthy leaders, with the capacity to make a difference. It’s not applicable to the mentally or physically ill, who need to spend disproportionate or all their energy focused on themselves.

woman-holding-her-high-hills-313702
person-in-desert-3320155

So… where should we draw the line in the sand

between concern for ourselves and concern for others?

.

Each person will have a different answer, and most importantly, a different, personally-biased measuring device!

Thus; we go back to the 2 objective keys to everything in life:

  1. Objective-Holistic-DMQ (Decision Making Quality)
  2. Ex-Ex – Execution-Excellence – Our ability to actually implement our decisions effectively.

If we asked people with the most common, Objective-Holistic-DMQ’s, ranging from 4.0 to 6.0 (scale from 0.0 to 10.0 with 10.0 being theoretically “Perfect”), “how self-centered are you?”; is there any reason, not to believe their answers will be biased and closer to “selfless” than “self-centered”?

No… not at all.

Their Holistic-DMQ is “Average”, thus; they’ll make an “Average Quality” decision about themselves on this question. That’s how DMQ works and that’s why the DMQ Circular Loop Syndrome (discussed in my Holistic Leadership Book) can be routinely observed.

Objectively (regardless if we like it or not), 84% of Leaders, Talent, Profits, etc. are

Therefore; we can expect 4.0’s to 6.0’s to conclude, they’re not self-centered; which merely reinforces, they have an “Average” Holistic-DMQ.

Interestingly; leaders who are genuinely selfless and actually investing the highest percentage (important, NOT nominal amounts) of their time and resources, are showing up at the mirror in an old pair of jeans saying, “I’m not doing enough”.

This is why getting your Objective-Holistic-DMQ score, materially accurate, is

so critically important for you to experience a Holistic, Amazing Journey in life!

.

What’s the difference between:

  • An Objective-Holistic-DMQ Leader of 4.0, who subjectively thinks they are a 9.0; and,
  • An Objective-Holistic-DMQ Leader of 9.0, who subjectively thinks they are an 8.5?

Two things:

  1. The 4.0, truly feels they are doing more than the 9.0 and there’s no need to improve.
  2. The 9.0 truly feels they need to improve and will work harder to get there.

However, I believe, when we’re alone with ourselves,

and look deep into our hearts,

we know exactly who we really are!

Are you a strong enough leader to make a significant difference in

1,000’s of lives in the next 12 months?

.

If “Yes you’re a strong leader”, and you’d like to raise $1M+ for your favorite Non-Profit,

Are You Making Self-Limiting Decisions Without Even Being Aware of It?

“Something amazing happens when you’re in love and

don’t give a damn about what day it is anymore.”

― Chad Sugg

panoramic-photography-of-trees-1453627

Seriously, reflect back on key decisions you’ve made, where you pursued “Good” (safe, socially accepted, etc.) instead of “Amazing”!

Do you consistently make decisions that give you the opportunity to truly be yourself and pursue “Amazing”?

Or…

Do you often (be honest) make decisions that “protect” you from the perceived downside risks of decisions; but, prevent you from truly experiencing “Amazing”, even if it’s only for an unknown window of time? (We know, very few things last forever.)

Since we use our Holistic-DMQ in making all decisions, I believe it’s worthwhile to mention as a refresher from previous blogs, the underlying competencies or “ingredients” that make-up our Holistic-DMQ; which include:

  • DMQ–Base System;
  • DMQ–Inner Circle;
  • DMQ–Vision of Future Self;
  • DMQ–Self-Sabotage;
  • DMQ–Courage;
  • DMQ–Heart; and,
  • DMQ–Soul
  • DMQ-Freewill
food-on-white-background-256318
aerial-photography-of-maze-bush-1904204

Let’s agree on the obvious… pain hurts!

Feel pain enough times and just as mice in a maze with electrical shocks associated with food, will choose to die, rather than keep getting shocked; we too will find ways to not get “shocked”.

Succinctly; this “medicine” I’ll share, is tough to swallow:  learn to love getting shocked!

How can one learn to love getting shocked?

Easy… sort of! The other option is to feel the continuously “twisting knife of regret”, if you don’t pursue “Amazing” and choose to settle for “Good Enough”!

Shocks will become small, insignificant “pricks”, relative to the “twisting knife of regret”!

prickly-red-gloss-lipstick-with-box-1367225

As you travel your unique journey in life:

  • Optimize your: holistic potential professionally, personally and in the community!
  • Minimize your regrets; especially the big ones… Get in the Game of Life and go for it!
  • Increase your likelihood of success at “Amazing” by increasing your Holistic-DMQ!
  • Love yourself enough to fail miserably while dying on your sword before quitting!

Life and decisions are a series of pie charts that

utilize your unique “ingredients” in your Holistic-DMQ!

.

Improve the “ingredients” and

you’ll improve the “product”… your life!

A simple, common example is how we often make key decisions in our personal lives that also affect our professional lives.

  1. We look to our DMQ-Base, DMQ-Heart, DMQ-Soul, etc., when we make a jugular decision.
  2. We  arrive at our initial decision
  3. We then run our initial decision past our DMQ-Courage
  4. If we have enough courage to pursue “amazing”, kudos!
  5. If we don’t have enough courage,
    • We run our decision past our DMQ-Freewill
    • We make whatever decision we can live with while protecting our self-esteem through self-justification and support from our Inner-Circle-DMQ members that “affirm” our decision,
    • We must then jettison away, those in our Inner-Circle who don’t “affirm” our decision.

Good stuff! Yes; this may be a little complex; but, we are extremely complex people!

.

.

Here’s something that’s quite simple!

Would you like to donate $1M+ to your favorite charity as part of your special life journey?

.

If so, DM me and we’ll help you implement that beautiful contribution

(our teams create the $1M+), that changes 1,000’s of lives!

How Dichotomous Decision Making Leads Directly to Mediocre-ville

“Why settle for average when amazing is attainable?” Anonymous

.

“Be obsessed or be average.” Grant Cardone

.

“Average performers stop when they feel fear.

Iconic performers accelerate when they get frightened.” Robin Sharma

2020-02-b-Erin

How do you feel after making that “big, this or that” decision?

Relief? Life isn’t always rosy… or can it be, most of the time?

Seldom is the optimal solution dichotomous (black or white, this or that, etc.).

Usually, the optimal solution is some shade of gray, complexly situated between the polar opposites.

Selecting a “gray” (vs. “this or that”) solution seldom brings that “relief” feeling… unless, your Holistic-DMQ (Decision Making Quality) is an 8.5 or higher!

Leaders with high DMQ’s not only gain “relief” from choosing a potentially optimal “gray” solution, but also get excited, love the complexity of the new opportunity and typically lead simply amazing lives.

Whereas; 0.0 to 8.4 leaders, when they make that rare “gray” decision, continue to feel angst and seldom implement their decisions effectively.

The Best Leaders Find the Sweet Spots for Profits Hidden in Ambiguity & Constructive Chaos

Image Source:  “Get MAD! 7 Keys to Being an Admired, Kick-Ass Leader” by James Roncevich

abraham-lincoln-administration-adult-290150

High DMQ Holistic Leaders are able thrive in complex situations, keep multiple priority balls in the air and calmly continue to make high-quality, holistic decisions on their life journeys.

In contrast, Low to Average DMQ leaders struggle to handle all the variables. Their solution is often to simplify decision making by justifying (thus protecting self-esteem, ego, etc.) the elimination of “gray choices” by converting difficult decisions into:

  • Don’t make a decision and the problem might go away
  • Make a dichotomous (this or that, but not an optimal) decision to get the decision over with
  • Push the decision to someone else, so they’re no longer responsible for the outcomes (victim shifting)

Since Holistic-DMQ encompasses and intertwines with our professional, personal and community lives, it’s those key choices that impact us most; and, overlap multiple roles in our lives that requires high, Holistic-DMQ, in order to lead an amazing purpose-driven life!

Don’t follow the mainstream scripts;

they all lead to Mediocre-ville!

person-in-spiderman-costume-3381013

Where are you on the Holistic-DMQ Map?

Warning: In answering this question, please note, the

DMQ-Circular Loop Syndrome (if you haven’t read my book yet, it’s a major key to life!)

will be hard at work!

.

Warning: DMQ-Self-Sabotage (blog topic of its own) will also be hard at work.

 .

The DMQ-Circular Loop Syndrome:  In a nutshell,

we make a decision,

about our own DMQ,

using our own DMQ.

.

If we have a low DMQ,

we’re likely to make a less than stellar decision

about our own DMQ.

.

Thus; we’ll overrate our DMQ level and

obliviously believe we’re making a stellar decision…

while we’re really just adding another leg of our journey to Mediocre-ville… aka an average life.

 .

If you look in your rearview mirror of life and observe the decisions you’ve made, people you’ve chosen to be in your life, organizations you’ve chosen to work for, etc., it’ll provide you with a relative accurate picture of your DMQ level.

The less you justify your poor decisions, the more objective you are. Be brutally honest with yourself; so, you can grow more intelligently.

Keep in mind, there will always be anomalies where you made excellent or awful choices once in a while. You’re looking for consistency; not just the best or the worst.

Low to Average DMQ people can temporarily rise above their Natural-DMQ level. However, over time, they’ll gravitate back to their Natural-DMQ level, while justifying their decisions.

Be an amazing, kick-ass leader who forges his or her own unique path on that one, special journey called life!

Do you think donating $1M+ to your favorite charity is part of your special journey?

If so, DM me and we’ll help you implement that beautiful contribution with you,

that changes 1,000’s of lives!

Who changes the world? I believe it’s almost exclusively the Top-7%. They are the only ones with the Talent Portfolios and social consciences needed to actually implement significant positive social impact.

How the Peter Principle Plays Out With Your Inner-Circle

“The incompetent, with nothing to do, can still make a mess of it.”

.

“The problem with temptation is that you may not get another chance.”

.

Laurence J. Peter

black-and-white-stairs-vector-art-2736150

The “Peter Principle” was introduced in the 1960’s by Laurence J. Peter and states that “in a hierarchy, every employee tends to rise to his or her level of incompetence; the cream rises until it sours.”

Let’s tie the Peter Principle to our DMQ (Decision Making Quality) and Inner-Circle.

How many times has your Inner-Circle changed significantly?

Do you push people out of your Inner-Circle for the optimal (objective, high-DMQ) reasons?

What if your Inner-Circle provides you information that “hurts” vs. “affirmation” that is comforting, but not genuinely in your best interest long-term?

Good stuff… ambiguous; yet powerful!

My “sister” (who’s in my Inner-Circle and has been like a close sister to me for 30+ years, but isn’t actually related) called me in the evening, out of the blue, on V-Day. We only talk a few times per year. Her husband was out of town and she was meeting one of her daughters for dinner.

closeup-photo-of-woman-with-brown-coat-and-gray-top-733872
yellow-map-227433

Although our geographical paths in life have seldom crossed since we first met when she was in High School, our experiences over the years, although 2,500 miles apart, have many similarities. There are two areas in both of our lives that are particularly challenging.

First, we both have encountered a huge, almost identical challenge with one of our daughters. I won’t go into the details, but it’s been gut-wrenching for both of us. We can discuss this topic with each other in a healthy manner.

Second; we both have experienced close relationships in which mental illness has created huge hurdles in those relationships. Again, I won’t go into the details, but relationships with people who have some type of mental illness, is also, gut wrenching.

Both of these challenges sadden me greatly!

Interestingly, my sister has many of the upsides of a spectacular person (caring, intelligent, great mom, great spouse, successful career she built from the ground up, etc.), but doesn’t seem to have the downsides that often accompany this portfolio of upside attributes.

Thus; I asked her this key question, “What do you think we did differently, that enabled us to cope with life’s difficulties, stresses, setbacks, no time, etc., in a healthy manner, without either one of us needing med’s, therapists, etc.?” How does “nature vs. nurture” fit in?

After about 30 minutes of insightful conversation, it reminded me, she’s part of my Inner-Circle for many reasons. One of them is because she professionally, intelligently and confidently, tells me things I don’t always want to hear, but need to hear.

adult-blur-city-dawn-171296

She provides me information to help me get better and surround me with better people; not affirmation that just makes me feel good to just falsely elevate my less than stellar DMQ.

The Intersection: This leads us directly into the intersection of the Peter Principle and how our DMQ enables it to play out with our Inner-Circles.

  1. We bring and keep people in our Inner-Circles as long as they rise up to, but not beyond our DMQ, unless our DMQ is 8.5 or higher.
  2. Once they rise above our DMQ (if it’s an 8.4 or lower), we become intimidated, uncomfortable, etc., so we jettison them out of our Inner-Circles and replace them with people with whom we’re more comfortable (i.e. 0.0 to 8.4’s).

Interestingly; if the “owner” of the Inner-Circle has a DMQ of 0.0 to 8.4, and the person leaving the Inner-Circle is an 8.5 or higher, the owner will often justify why the change was needed. And, “yes”, the 0.0 to 8.4 does genuinely believe they’re “right. Thus; the Peter Principle is hard at work.

Our Inner-Circles temporarily rises beyond our level of competence (Peter Principle) and

then regresses back to its natural level where we feel comfortable, in control, etc.

Critical #1: If you’re a Top-7%’er, you’re constantly looking for people that make you better and the Peter Principle does not apply to you.

Critical #2: The DMQ Circular Loop Syndrome will be hard at work.

For example:  If you think your Inner-Circle is a 9.0 (10.0 = theoretically perfect),

but your Objective-DMQ is a 5.0,

your Decision, about your Inner-Circle being a 9.0 is inaccurate; yet,

you’re confident you’re right

(and the circular loop continues).

This lack of an “accurate mirror” of our DMQ creates a whole host of issues; that I discuss elsewhere and in my holistic leadership book.

Social Impact and Your Inner-Circle

.

If you and your Inner-Circle would

like to donate $1M+ to your favorite charities,

we can help you get that done.

Who changes the world?

I believe it’s almost exclusively the Top-7%.

They are the only ones with the Talent Portfolios and social consciences needed to actually implement significant positive social impact.

How To Handle Constructive Criticism to Improve Your Success

“The trouble with most of us is that we’d

rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.”

.

– Norman Vincent Peale

beautiful-black-top-dark-hair-2591431

How would you rate your competency; “Handling Constructive Criticism”?

Sounds like a simple enough question; but it’s actually quite complicated.

Why? There are at least two broad answers and one array of situational answers to this question. It depends on:

  1. Who is asking the question.
  2. What is at stake.
  3. An endless combination of #1 & #2.

Who is Asking the Question – Just consider the range of possibilities.

  • Boss
  • Spouse
  • Co-Worker
  • Child
  • Industry Peer
  • Person you like
  • Person you don’t like
  • Etc.
adult-athlete-businessman-697509
bright-clouds-cold-618833

What is at Stake – Just consider the range of consequences.

  • New Job or No Job
  • Promotion or Demotion
  • Marriage or Divorce
  • Awesome or Terrible Professional or Personal Relationship
  • Amazing or Mediocre part of your Life Journey

An Endless Combination of #1 and #2 – You can pretty much figure out the myriad of possible situations unique to your life, using your DMQ (Decision Making Quality) to optimize a purpose-driven life (if you so choose that path) or pursue whatever type of path you believe is best for you (bounded by the downside and upside of your DMQ).

Why is Handling Constructive Criticism A Valuable Competency – In the interest of brevity; the simple answer is, because it’s an excellent growth opportunity.

The key, is what we learn from our constructive criticism experiences, with the most critical tool for learning, being our DMQ-Filters.

During a coaching call I was providing this week, we were discussing how constructive criticism from the wrong people in your life is actually a complement.

beach-motivation-ocean-261630

You want people that don’t genuinely listen to, appreciate, etc., you, to criticize you. In a nutshell, you’re not like them and that should make you happy.

However; as most of you know, top-talent’s goal is always to be the “dumbest person in the room”. If you’ll recall from previous blogs, this doesn’t mean you’re dumb. It actually means you’re quite sharp.

Example: You’re an 8.7 (10.0 = theoretically perfect), but your spouse, inner-circle, etc., are an average of 9.2. Awesome!

Thus; receiving constructive criticism from 9.2’s means your listening, asking questions, etc., in order to become a better holistic leader. This enables you to:

  • Have no regrets at the end of your life
  • Enjoy more spectacular (vs. not-so-good to average) years in your life
  • Be a difference maker in the lives of so many others

Important: While we’re learning from people more talented than us, when they provide us constructive criticism, it may very well:

  • Not be understood (we may not have developed enough capacity to understand their knowledge base; yet).
  • Not be appreciated (and even piss us off).
  • Not be believed, since we don’t believe it’s accurate (we foolishly think we understand what they’re sharing with us (but, we unknowingly don’t) and it pisses us off).
  • Be listened to, not understood, but “retained for further processing” later. Awesome!

Wow! A lot to take in on this blog!

Have you deeply appreciated the professional and personal opportunities you’ve been availed in your life, in order to use them to give back to those less fortunate?

If you haven’t collaborated with us to donate $1M+ to your favorite charities…

      … here’s a little constructive criticism…

… those in need are waiting on you to step up and make a difference!

The downside; it’ll take 7-10 hours of your time this year.

Who changes the world? I believe it’s almost exclusively the Top-7%. They are the only ones with the Talent Portfolios and social consciences needed to actually implement significant positive social impact.

If you believe you’re one of these executives, we’d love to explore possible opportunities.

Which Super Hero Do Other People Believe You Are?

“What is a superhero?

They’re supposed to represent hope, opportunity, and strength for everybody.”

– Aldis Hodge

.

“Intelligence is a privilege,

and it needs to be used for the greater good of people.”

– Dr. Octopus

.

“Heroes are made by the path they choose, not the powers they are graced with.”

– Iron Man

boy-child-clouds-kid-346796

Do you believe you are a Super Hero in your own special way?

Do others see you as a Super Hero?

Which Super Hero best describes your mental skills?

Let’s look at a beautiful blend of reality (our life journey) with fantasy (Super Heroes).

The common thread among Super Heroes; they have mental and physical abilities that are not possessed by mortals; but many people would love to possess them.

What if you could possess some of their mental or physical talents?

What if our current definition of Super Hero is flawed?

What if the definition of Super Hero to a:

  • Person without food, was one meal a day?
  • Person without clean water, was a safe bottle of water to drink?
  • Person without access to education, was the privilege to attend educational classes?
photo-of-people-holding-each-other-s-hands-3184423
accident-band-aid-bandages-42230

Now, is it possible for you to see yourself as your own special Super Hero?

The simplest half of the equation, is the side with people in need.

There are needs in 1,000’s of situations, geographic locations, etc., that range from need for clean drinking water to access to low-cost / free mental health care to affordable / free health treatment for various diseases.

The tougher half of the equation, is the side where talented leaders are needed who genuinely want to be Super Heroes, to real people, in real life!

Helping isn’t easy. It was surprisingly much more difficult than I thought or many of you may think.

Why is it so difficult? I don’t fully know.

It appears there is a pie chart (many slices) of primary reasons why it is so difficult; ranging from idea generation to the implementation to the sustainability of any particular program.

blue-and-red-superman-print-tank-top-shirt-38630

One key difficulty is attracting money for social causes you’re trying to help with… that is, seldom do you have enough money to implement great social impact ideas and make them sustainable for long periods of time.

To help leaders with great ideas, passion and willingness to put in a little effort; but, don’t have enough money, we’ve developed a simple, yet significant, fundraising model that enables leaders to make significant social impact.

We’ve blended together an extremely successful corporate expense-saving model used by 90+ of the Fortune 500’s over the last 20 years, to save them $M’s (the highest was $51M) with our new Social Impact Fundraising Model.

A donation of at least 5% ($50,000 per $1M of realized savings) will be made directly from the corporations realizing the expense savings, to the Non-Profit of the contributing leader’s (your) choice. Your role as the leader is to identify companies that are interested in saving money and donating at least 5% to the your selected Non-Profit.

Non-Profits can also use our model and our teams’ talents (we have multiple teams that specialize in each unique expense category) to create new, significant donation streams from their current sponsors; or, use our fundraising model to attract new donating sponsors.

Yes; helping others is difficult! We just want to make it a little easier for holistic life leaders with the passion to change a part of the world they choose to improve!

Who changes the world? I believe it’s almost exclusively the Top-7%. They are the only ones with the Talent Portfolios and social consciences needed to actually implement significant positive social impact.

If you believe you’re one of these executives, we’d love to explore possible opportunities.

Will You Win in the Biggest Game of All… A Purpose-Driven Life?

“To begin to think with purpose, is to enter the ranks of those strong ones who only recognize failure as one of the pathways to attainment.” ―James Allen

board-center-chalk-chalkboard-220066

Did you get better in the first month of 2020?

Will you indirectly give $1M+ to the charity of your choice this year? The downside: It’ll take 7-10 hours of your time this year.

How will you improve your professional, personal and social Ex-Ex (Execution-Excellence) this year?

What is your definition for “Winning” in the game of life?

Ideas are great, but fruits from our labors are grown not from our great ideas; rather, from the Ex-Ex of our great ideas.

The best leaders constantly share with us, their most significant learning takes place during the “failure, get up, get better, try anew and repeat” cycle.

Life is short, business is tough and our personal lives are often, even more challenging!

Continuously strengthening your Ex-Ex muscles will positively change your life!

My leadership book goes into detail on Ex-Ex, DMQ (Decision Making Quality) and several holistically complex, leadership concepts. It’s written for the Top-7%’ers looking to lead purpose-driven lives.

It’ll help you look regret squarely in the eyes, knowing, you’ll have none or very little at the end of your life!

Since blogs are quite short; I’ll summarize a few key elements from the leadership book to consider focusing on, to improve your Ex-Ex; if you’re already a strong leader, but want to get even better in 2020.

Love Yourself Enough to Genuinely Get to Know You – Sounds a little weird, but hang with me on this one.

We all have limitations; however, the best leaders know their limitations to the nth degree of detail. Thus; they are much better prepared to overcome obstacles aligned with their limitations, during their implementation of great ideas.

Diversify the Thought Reservoirs You’re Tapping Into – Significant success in delivering Ex-Ex requires multi-faceted thinkers and doers who:

  • See the same challenge in different ways
  • See around corners, while others aren’t even aware the corners exist
  • Embrace, without shying away from, the ambiguities discovered while Executing-Excellently
  • Share what they can do vs. what they can’t do

Spread the Wealth, Power and Success – Sounds simple; yet few people in leadership positions get this and… you guessed it… Ex-Ex this concept.

Who changes the world? I believe it’s almost exclusively the Top-7%. They are the only ones with the Talent Portfolios and social consciences needed to actually implement significant positive social impact.

If you believe you’re one of these executives, we’d love to explore possible opportunities.

What Will You Actually Do Differently, that Significantly Improves You, in 2020?

“I resolved to stop accumulating and begin the infinitely more serious

and difficult task of wise distribution.” – Andrew Carnegie

people-holding-boxes-2346558

Are you getting any younger?

Is life getting any simpler?

Is your company’s competitors getting any nicer?

If you could raise $1M+ for your favorite charity while investing less than 10 hours of your talented time in 2020 (yes, a whole year), who would you donate $1M+ to… and why?

I’ve observed leaders with that rare “Gets It” quality, to be the:

  • Least self-centered
  • Most open-minded
  • Most intelligent at change leadership
  • Happiest while leading a purpose-driven life

What have you observed in “Gets It” leaders?

adult-athlete-businessman-697509
u-s-dollar-bills-pin-down-on-the-ground-164474

When we implement our effective, expense-saving / social impact model with organizations led by “Gets It” leaders:

  • Larger companies typically save $10M+,
  • Mid-sized companies typically save $4M+
  • Small companies typically save $750K+

Our teams have also worked with companies that “Get It”, but have as little as $20M in expenses, to help them save $250K+ in just one of their line item expense categories.

One of our teams has been working with #1 of the F500 for more than 11 years.

? What does #1 know that most organizations haven’t figured out… yet?

Our teams have worked with more than 90 of the F500’s over the past 20 years. They “Get It”!

In 2020, who wants to indirectly help donate $1M+ to their favorite charity?

black-board-bright-bullseye-226569

If you’re a Non-Profit, would 5-10 new donations streams of $500K+ enable you to do amazing new things in the world?

Seriously… Think About It…

     Now… Take Action…

          Upgrade Your Life…

Positively Change 1,000’s of Lives… Starting With Your Own!

Who changes the world? I believe it’s almost exclusively the Top-7%. They are the only ones with the Talent Portfolios and social consciences needed to actually implement significant, positive social impact.

If you believe you’re one of these “Gets It”executives, we’d love to succinctly explore opportunities with you.

Holistic Life Leadership: Chapter 2019 – What Did You Learn?

“They always say time changes things,

but you actually have to change them yourself.” ~ Andy Warhol

black-and-white-black-and-white-handwriting-760728

What one attribute did you develop, that positively changed your life in 2019?

What one “aha-moment” did you discover this year, that you’d love to be able to go back in time, to share with your January 1, 2019 self?

Who else could benefit from your newly acquired knowledge?

Personally, my holistic growth in life this year has surprised me in so many ways. Awakening each day, like a 7-year-old on his birthday, no matter how challenging the day before was (and yes, there were many this year) has truly been a gift!

One of the keys to this awakening has been implementing my periodic jettison program. I look at every relationship and genuinely determine who I believe should:

  • Be in my life; or,
  • Not be in my life; or,
  • Is welcome to re-enter my life.

This Life Jettison Program (which I discuss in greater detail in my holistic leadership book) applies to both professional and more importantly, personal relationships. The key drivers are aligned with where my unique life journey is going.

Do you have a similar program for your life? Do share!

I called each one of those whom I wanted to continue being in my life, to share my process and to let them know how much they are truly appreciated. Their kindness, help, ideas, appreciation and responses back to me, moved me to tears at times.

How does your process work?

Those who know me best have a holistic relationship with me. Professionally, most are awesome; but, personally they are extraordinary people that lead purpose-driven lives. I’m quite blessed!

How would you describe your 5 closest relationships?

Is it Fate, Karma or … that brings new people into our lives that inexplicably and positively change us forever? People that are so amazing, spectacular, etc., that words are completely insufficient to describe them.

Are there any amazingly spectacular people that somehow came into your life that have / will change your life forever?

What are you planning to do differently in 2020?

Raise Your Glass to a Toast: To surviving the 2019 bumps, crashes, etc., while appreciating and growing in the wonderful experiences that will enable you and your relationships to enjoy an exquisitely special 2020!

Holistic Life Leadership: The Abundance Mentality

“When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.”- Tony Robbins

heart-shaped-pink-and-purple-flower-garden-1040626

Do you love to see others succeed?

.

Who has helped you the most in your career or in life?

.

Let’s acknowledge, seeing someone else enjoying success, while we’re struggling, can be difficult; regardless if it’s professionally, personally, etc.

What’s the Difference? – Abundance Mentality leaders see almost unlimited opportunities for themselves, regardless of the success others are enjoying. If an Abundance Mentality leader is competing for a slice of pie, and there isn’t enough pie left for them, they make another pie (i.e. create new, additional opportunities while allowing others to enjoy the current pie / opportunity).

Absence Mentality managers on the other hand, see opportunities more like a single pie. Thus; if someone else gets a big hunk, there’s less available for them or the other people whom they’re competing with for the balance of the remaining pie.

baked-food-close-up-photography-2693447
high-angle-photo-of-woman-on-ladder-2467396

It’s especially fascinating to observe the behavior of people who are fighting for a “slice of pie” when they didn’t even help make it! Yet; they are absolutely convinced they deserve the biggest slice of pie. Further; they can be downright stingy and not share any of their unearned, but received pie, with anyone!

Abundance Mentality leaders possess these attributes. They’re:

+ Genuinely excited to see others succeed

+ Overly appreciative to those who have help them

+ Incredibly supportive of other Abundance Mentality leaders needing a hand-up

Absence Mentality managers, on the other hand, possess these attributes. They’re:

  – Not internally excited to see others succeed, since, “that should have been them”

  – Not fully appreciative to those who have helped them, since they believe they personally did most of it on their own (which is often not even close to being accurate)

  – Not truly supportive of others, since they fear others will get ahead of them

man-sitting-and-closing-eyes-on-teal-bench-1076999

Imagine… a relationship, personally or professionally, where you couldn’t thank your spouse, business partner, etc. enough for your success!

Imagine… people contacting you, out of the clear-blue, to provide a “hand-up” when you didn’t even ask!

Imagine… watching the 5-minute highlight film of your life, filled with success, while you consistently gave more than you took!

Imagine… genuinely leading a purpose-driven life, surrounded by simply amazing people, in every facet of your life!

Yes … you can!!

Psst… The world’s waiting for you … Superstar!

Who changes the world? I believe it’s almost exclusively the Top-7%. They are the only ones with the Talent Portfolios and social consciences needed to actually implement significant positive social impact.

If you believe you’re one of these executives, we’d love to explore possible opportunities.
