Naively… many (including my younger self) begin working, in the hopes of becoming wealthy… sadly… for the money!
Spoiler Alert: This blog isn’t about how to make money, that’s the easiest part and there are 1,000’s of ways to do that. It’s about the more important parts of this amazing journey!
There are many gifts provided to the wise on this unorthodox, excruciatingly painful and tearfully beautiful journey… when you start close to $0. We’ll focus on just three of the most important gifts.
Gift #1: Self-Cleansing Relationships – Most people love you when you help to provide attractive Lifestyle Packages for them. Lifestyle Packages are plentiful and can be provided by most people earning consistent, 6-7-Figure incomes in traditional jobs.
With this Gift, those who aren’t committed to your holistic mission, will self-cleanse out of your life. Money shifts from being the primary reason for work to becoming the by-product of your Purpose-Driven Life. Many people around you will feel uncomfortable when this shift away from money to purpose takes place, wish you the best but won’t want to be part of the unpredictable journey… such is life!
While you’re making this transition in thinking, self-centered people in your life who are unable or unwilling to adapt, will now look for others who can help them fulfill their desired Lifestyle Package.

An elderly gentleman, who referred to himself as, “the happiest man in the world”, asked me to go to lunch with him and his wife of 55 years. During lunch, he shared many stories about his travels in life. However; his passion elevated when he spoke about the tipping point in his life. He was only 27, had made over $30 million and still… wasn’t happy.
So… he gave all his money away and founded a Non-Profit to help others, while travelling to the poorest parts of the world.
Who left him during this transition in thinking… basically all the;
- “What have you done for me lately” people
- “What bad things might happen in the future if I stay with you” people
- “Love to help you, but…” people
Thus; the only ones left in his Inner-Circle were high-integrity professionals and supportive personal relationships… including his wife.
Again, he refers to himself as the “happiest man in the world” based on who he’s surrounded by and for the privilege to pursue his giving purpose in life!
Gift #3: The Snowball Effect – Once you’re left with only those rare few, who will brave the cold, snow, etc., to help you build a “social impact opportunity snowball” that will change 1,000’s of people’s lives and starts rolling down the hill… others will now see this wonderful snowball of social impact coming down the hill and want to piggyback onto your success, to be part of something really, really exceptional.
It’s important to note, there are many people who are able to add to the snowball once it’s rolling; but very few people have the capacity to help you get the snowball built and started down the hill. Be careful when letting any of the “love what you’re doing, come lately” people into your Inner-Circle. Would they have been there for you, when you weren’t wealthy and successful?

while changing the lives of others; which is, where the abundant richness in life is found!
