This is a tough blog to write; as it pierces to the heart of who we genuinely, have collectively (and apparently proudly, given our unwillingness to positively change)… become as a society! Sigh!
You, if you’re one of the rare Top-7%’ers who actually gets things done… you can change the world for literally 1,000’s of people! We’ve made it relatively easy (less than 20 hours a year) for you to be a Catalyst for Significant Positive Change!
Important Bias Baseline: By no effort (zero) from nearly everyone reading this blog, you were just plain lucky! None of us had a checklist when we came out of our mother’s womb, with our requests for the socioeconomic status of our parents, the country we were born, the color of our skin, our religious orientation, our gender, our physical and mental health, etc.
Yes… it’s 2022 and every Social Problem WE share / ignore together, worldwide… is the result of one, ultimate, yet simple problem, that WE have collectively chosen, to intentionally not fix!
Reality Check: Here are several key worldwide facts (Source: UNICEF). Please keep in mind, the U.S. has a total population of 330 million people.
- 673 million people practice open defecation (twice the U.S. population)!
- 2.2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water!
- More than half (4.0+ billion) of the global population doesn’t have access to safe sanitation!
Now… do you feel lucky? If you were unlucky enough to be one of the people in these alarming statistics… what would you be willing to “trade” for the life you’re enjoying / struggling with, in the U.S. or Europe for example?

If you:
- Earn $50,000 per year or less, would you be willing to trade $10,000 or 20% of it, to not change your lifestyle; or would you prefer to live without safe drinking water?
- Earn $100,000 per year, would you be willing to trade $50,000 to not change your lifestyle; or would you prefer to practice open defecation?
- Have $1+ million in retirement savings, would you be willing to trade 50% of it, to not change your lifestyle; or would you prefer to not have access to safe sanitation?
How appreciative are you, for your good fortune?
How do you -actually- demonstrate appreciation for your good fortune?
Is sharing resources (especially your talents) for the betterment of others,
a genuine way of -actually- showing appreciation?
Socioeconomic Status (SES) in the U.S., directly impacts the percent of people who earn Bachelors or higher degrees. Here is the likelihood of someone earning a Bachelor’s (or higher) Degree. Sadly, these statistics aren’t driven by the person’s intelligence; rather, they’re driven predominantly by their SES (sigh!):
- 14% – If your family is in the bottom 25% SES
- 29% – If your family is in the middle 50% SES
- 60% – If your family is in the top 25% SES

.
Does anyone besides me, find these statistics extremely disturbing…
disturbing enough to -actually- stop talking…
and actively participate in the implementation of new solutions?
.
(Hint: 93% will talk about it, do enough to look good enough or donate a small % of their excess monies to feel good, but won’t -actually- do what is -actually- needed… to -actually- fix it.)

Twisted Challenge: Who do you think leads university initiatives to create educational opportunities
for Low Socioeconomic, would-attend-if-they-could-afford-it, college students?
.
Answer: High Socioeconomic decision makers. (“Houston… we have an unconscious bias / entitlement problem!”)
Thus; there is often (85%+) a complete disconnect due to a biased lack of significant-action-empathy, creative thinking,
willingness to change the system, etc., from most university decision makers in positions of authority… sigh!
.
Why? Talking and doing “good-enough”, is apparently “good enough” for most of University So-Called-Leaders, to keep their six-figure positions, but not actually be part of the significant change that needs to take place for the betterment of Low-Socioeconomic would-be students! When universities reward Glacial Speed… they entrench the problem even deeper. Nonetheless; most universities continue to eloquently, just as most For-Profits companies do, push out their, “we’re wonderful at DEI” PR!
Great News: Roughly 7% to 15% of university decision makers are actually committed to improving the educational
opportunities, especially for people disproportionately impacted by diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) hurdles!
.
We’ve begun working with a few of these exceptional leaders, who humble me every time we collaborate!
Together… WE can solve any and every social ill, by doing one complex thing, referenced earlier, that we love to avoid;
while simultaneously telling everyone how wonderful we are at it!
That one, ultimate, yet simple problem WE as a society have collectively chosen, to intentionally not fix…
Intelligent, Results-Oriented Collaboration!
Yet… if we could learn to Intelligently Collaborate… Together, WE could do anything!
We’re looking for the Collaborative-Do-ers at the Universities… not the Look-Good-Talkers!
Are you a Collaborative-Do-er at a University?
If you’d like to be a Collaborative Do-er, that actually changes the world, we’d love to collaborate with you?
We’ve added an Intelligent Social Impact model that can fund 1,000+ College Scholarships for DEI initiatives;
and, be implemented at any U.S. college!
The coolest part…
it doesn’t cost the university or donor corporations a net $0.01 to implement and fully fund!
